CodeFetch

CodeFetch

Coding isn't rocket science but it does take some serious brain power and brain storage! Can you image what get's deleted from your memory when you have to file away all those little tidbits of code. I'm at the point now where I barely remember my childhood.

So I was pleased to come across CodeFetch during a recent Internet browsing session. In a nutshell, it's a free service that allows you to search the source code of programming books by programming language... Flash ActionScript, PHP, HTML / CSS, Perl, Python... The results returned by CodeFetch are usefully formatted and very detailed. Give it a try.

Web Traffic Snapshot

Web Traffic Snapshot

I came across Compete.com last week and was sad to find that MediaGirl didn't even show up on the radar. Go figure. But the service is cool enough to mention so here's my quick 2 cents.

The part of the site I'm interested in is the Compete Snapshot which provides free statistical information for higher traffic websites on the Internet. The statistics returned include traffic history, ranking, page visits and average stay. This isn't anything you can't get from your own statistics program. But what makes the site unique is that you can look at statistics numbers across a number of sites. For instance, I searched Google, Yahoo and YouTube.

Cool stuff if you are a company wanting to benchmark your traffic to that of your competitors.

Apps on the Go

Apps on the Go

If you've ever needed a software application on the go, check out PortableApps.com.

This site hosts a number of portable applications that will fit on your USB flash drive, portable hard drive, iPod or other portable device. So basically, it's a computer program that you can carry around with you. You plug in when you need to use it, and when you unplug, none of your personal data is left behind.

Easy Online Forms

Easy Online Forms

I've been looking for such a tool for ever! It's not the form part that was so difficult, it was the reporting part.

"Wufoo is an online tool that helps anyone build and host amazing online forms. In a few short minutes, you can create a mailing list, a contact form, a marketing survey or even a complete customer management system." That's their blurb but I think they said it best.
